Humanitarian Crisis And Churches In Ukraine
Shawn and Amy recently spent a week in Texas, sharing the story of Mission 823 with several churches and pastors there. The response was wonderful and we want to thank everyone for allowing us to come and share! Please let us know if you would like for us to come to your church or other group event to hear more about what we are doing in Ukraine!
URGENT MEDICAL NEEDS FOR UKRAINE
Civilians continue to be severely wounded from daily attacks on residential neighborhoods all over Ukraine. First responders must have better equipment and supplies to meet this critical demand.
Our highest medical priority is first responder/EMT/Fire Rescue supplies for First Responder Go Bags. We have 10 Stat Packs Fire Rescue Bags that Paramedics use as first on the scene. We would like to get a full load-out for these bags and replacement supplies for the future.
Secondly, emergency room and severe trauma supplies and equipment for conflict related injuries are in widespread short supply. Anything that would be used in explosive, concussive, shrapnel, ammunition related and structural collapse injuries is urgently requested.
We have had special requests for inter osseus rapid fluid infusion supplies, dry plasma, tourniquets, pelvic slings, chest seals, Israeli bandages, Quick Clot/Kaolin impregnated gauze, laryngoscopes, portable X-rays and external fixators for extremities. We welcome any advice or connections regarding sources for donated supplies. Contact us ASAP with any information.
URGENT SUPPLIES EN ROUTE TO UKRAINE
Two 40 foot containers are in transit by sea right now, scheduled for delivery to Ukraine in late April/early May.
Sixty-one pallets include urgent medical emergency room trauma and surgical supplies, 100,000 meals and 1200 water filters which will be delivered by our teams to the highest priority hospitals and communities along the front lines. Shawn anticipates leading the delivery efforts on the ground with our team and partners once the supplies arrive in Ukraine.

SOLDIERS ARE PEOPLE TOO
Military medics on the front lines of Ukraine encounter some of the most gruesome and life-threatening injuries on a daily basis.
It has been our privilege over the last year to be able to provide professional medical kits designed for conflict zones directly to the corpsmen supporting soldiers and civilians affected by these injuries. They still need a lot of support for this very specialized work.
FROM hOME WITH LOVE
Shawn and Amy know what it means to be forward deployed with the military, separated from family and always uncertain of what tomorrow will bring. It was always heart warming to receive gifts and words of comfort from home.
Ukrainians love to support their sons and daughters, fathers and mothers who are serving on their behalf to secure their nation. It is an honor to know that those staying in our facilities are preparing these gifts to be sent to the front. A hot, homemade meal is always the best!
UKRAINIAN CHURCH IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Mission 823 is a Christian organization. At the core of everything that we do is gratitude for all that God has done for us and the desire for others to know the good news of His grace.
Working with church partnerships here in the States and through churches in Ukraine, we have the privilege of demonstrating the love and compassion of Christ to everyone we encounter. One of our critical partnerships is with a very young, rapidly growing church family in Yaremche in the mountains of western Ukraine.
Pastor Evgeniy with his family and a host of volunteers, minister to hundreds of local residents and refugees weekly. Every day of the week, this amazing team tirelessly meets the physical and spiritual needs of those in the community. They have purchased land for construction of their own facility and are working toward the future.
PROJECT FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN
Just ten minutes down the road from our base in the west is a community center for special needs children in the small town of Kolomyya.
The local Rotary Club has requested assistance in equipping this center and its specialists to better serve the needs of children on the autism spectrum and those with physical disabilities. A popular and effective tool for these therapies is multi-sensory experiences and activities.
Stations and rooms can be well equipped for a very modest budget of $5000. If you or your organization would like to participate in this project, please contact us immediately.
REST FOR THE wEARY
Mission 823 teams have been working feverishly, around the clock, in some very demanding and sometimes dangerous conditions for well over a year now.
Since the full-scale Russian invasion, there has been very little time for relaxation, much less recuperation. Last month, Shawn worked side-by-side with our team and took them for a one-day, much needed mental and physical break from the stress of the war. The serene beauty of the Carpathian mountains of Ukraine reminds us of the goodness of God and His care for us. Please pray for Mission 823 leadership, staff, volunteers and the precious people of Ukraine as we continue our work to honor God and love people as He has loved us.
Please visit Facebook and Instagram pages and You Tube Channel and share them widely. We need a lot more voices and ambassadors actively participating so that we can have the greatest impact for the people of Ukraine.
Thank you and God Bless You!
