Thankful and blessed

Dear Partners and Friends,

We want to thank you all for your generosity, concern, prayer, and partnership with us during this very dark and difficult time of war in Ukraine. Our people are suffering tremendously, and we are heartbroken. We work daily to do everything we can to provide relief for children and families, but the war is merciless and the suffering overwhelming.

We know that you probably hear very little, or a very distorted version, of actual events in Ukraine. Russia continues their brutal attacks against civilians in residential communities all over Ukraine and people live under the cloud of fear and terrorism daily.

Unbelievably, we have endured more than 628 days of war since Feb 2022, 9 years since 2014, over a 600-mile-long conflict line. Tens of thousands of civilians have been killed, 14 million people displaced as refugees, 2 million children have PTSD, 2 million people live in humanitarian crisis and have no access to clean water. Children have been used as human shields, tortured, and executed. Hundreds of thousands of homes in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed by the war. Winter without shelter is brutal. Daily rocket, missile, artillery, and drone attacks on civilians create terror, interrupt work, and prevent families from earning a living.

But Mission 823 continues our work through it all to serve at risk and traumatized children. Because of your compassion over the last 22 months, we have been able to:

-  Deliver 50,000 water filters which equals 9 billion gallons of clean water potential, evacuate 70,000 people from conflict zones and the Kakhovka Dam explosion, house 70 refugees for 1 ½ years, support 7 additional refugee shelters, purchase and deliver 235 multi-casualty military grade trauma kits, hundreds of IFAKs and 6 STAT Packs for first responders.

-  Deliver 10 semi-trucks of humanitarian and medical supplies, pack and deliver 100,000 meals, deliver tons of food packets, purchase 2 – 17 KW Generators and hundreds of personal generators, reconstruct multiple homes and provide building materials, provide orphanage support, conduct 7 youth camps at Camp Willow Park for more than 500 children, and camps for widows and orphans.

-  Additionally, this past Spring we made massive improvements at Camp Willow Park, purchased 3 vehicles for relief operations, built a new storage facility and a 2000-liter gas station, bought bakery equipment and began support for a new feeding program in Nikopol, provided emergency surgeries for multiple children and continued supporting churches and adoptive families.

We celebrate the lives we have been able to save and restore through Mission 823. We did this together with you! God has enabled us to share the Gospel through grace and compassion with those suffering in Ukraine. We refuse to live in darkness, depression, or despair. We have hope and are committed to continue to serve under any circumstance.

On behalf of the children and families of Ukraine, thank you for your generosity and sacrifice. We couldn’t do what we do without you! Please remember us and our work in your prayers and consider giving anew and/or monthly to help us survive the winter and rebuild from the war. Be sure to share this with a friend, business leader or your church and ask them to get involved. We need your voice and continued support as an Ambassador for Mission 823.
