It's the beginning of summer in Ukraine. Despite the horrors of war, God's creation continues to comfort and amaze!
100+ Days of War - Rapid and Massive Changes
20% of Ukraine is occupied by Russian forces.
More than 14 million people have been displaced from their homes.
Severe fighting continues in the eastern parts of Ukraine.
Even though the news media has been mostly silent on Ukraine these past few weeks, the war is still active and the Ukrainian people and their homes continue to be destroyed.
Yes, the war in Ukraine has shifted to mostly the southern and eastern parts of Ukraine for now, but that doesn't mean that the other parts of Ukraine are back to normal.
They are all facing severe hardships including no income, food, water or places to live and are daily in fear of missile strikes or a change in Russia's current tactics to include their towns or villages.
Evacuation requests have significantly decreased due to the Russian forces being driven out of much of the previously targeted territories and many people are returning to Ukraine and their homes to begin the rebuilding process.
The hardships they are facing as they return are overwhelming! We are doing whatever we can to help!
Our primary focus now is long term housing for refugees, food and water distribution, disaster relief construction in residential areas and trauma relief for children.
In addition to food, water and medical supply distribution, Mission 823 is planning for volunteer teams to travel to Ukraine to assist with medical and trauma care, reconstruction of homes damaged or destroyed by airstrikes and leadership of camps for children affected by the war.

Our church planting partners in western Ukraine are also engaged daily in refugee support, disaster relief and sharing the love of God to as many as possible.
The Ukrainian people are very open and receptive to hearing the Gospel as they face the horrors of this war.

Ongoing Ministry
We are still housing and caring for refugees at our camp and homes in the western part of Ukraine.
Humanitarian aid collection, transport, and distribution is a full-time, all-hands activity.
Life continues amid daily threats and air raid sirens.
Much-needed medical equipment is being delivered.
We have built a new storage facility to store supplies and vehicles for war relief in nearby communities.
We have also been able to make food deliveries as far away as Kharkiv, Bucha, and Narodychi.
We have purchased two new diesel generators to supply electricity to all of our facilities and provide new 10-inch water filters to supply up to 4,500 gallons of pure water each day per filter to communities without clean water.
Fuel shortages, rationing, and long lines have necessitated the purchase of two 1,000-liter diesel tanks that will allow us to continue ministry uninterrupted.
Food shortages, an interrupted supply chain, threats of attacks, and a Cholera outbreak from contaminated water and dead bodies are becoming serious problems.
Your donations have allowed us to do so much, but much more is still needed. We appreciate your generosity and sacrificial donations to our ministry and the people of Ukraine.
Trip to Ukraine
Shawn and two of our Board members will be heading to Ukraine in just a few days. They plan to check on our current ministries including our camp facilities, family homes and our two church plants - all of which are being used as refugee and humanitarian aid centers.
Our goal while they are there is to set up a food distribution center for Ukraine in western Europe, conduct water filter and combat medic training, and distribute food, water filters and medical kits.
Our small team will be focusing on encouragement for our Ukrainian staff and volunteers, assessment of the changing risks and needs and development of new programs for long term support.
Please pray for peace, freedom and healing in Ukraine and for the strength, wisdom and resources to help them rebuild their lives. Pray that God's grace and mercy would be felt and known by those that we have the privilege to serve.
